What Is going on with this chick

So our broody silkie hatched one baby this time. When it was about a week old I noticed it would kind of kick up as it walked. Picture a chick walking while trying to kick something off of its belly. I found quite a bit of poop on its back end and cleaned it off. Well, it still does it all the time. Seems perfectly healthy otherwise. Anyone seen this before? Trying to load video.

For some reason the site won't let me upload the video. Any idea why?

This sounds like some interesting behavior.....Is it's back end staying clean? How old is it now? If it is acting normal, and eating and drinking fine, I think I wouldn't worry to terribly much.

I think she's about 4 weeks now. I've lost track. I'll try to get it up. Please check back in a bit because I just can't figure it out.

Oh, and the little poop that I got off her the first time was below her vent so nothing has blocked her off.

Yes it worked. That is odd. Lol! I'm assuming you checked it's feet to see if anything was stuck to them or something between toes? I agree that if it's eating, drinking and otherwise acting fine, then don't worry too much. It's very young and still learning.

Yes and it's been going on for 2-3 weeks.

I don't know then. Surely someone will have an idea if something is really wrong. If not, and it continues into adulthood, it will make for a great ice breaker. I have a rooster that I hatched last year and I never noticed until this summer, that he doesn't run like a normal chicken would. He hops. Funniest thing to see him hopping through some tall grass. Now ya see him, now ya don't.

I couldn't tell, feathered feet/legs? If so, perhaps those feathers are giving an odd sensation when they touch the ground or the other leg.

I have raised a or of bramah chicks this year..and noticed the ones with heavily feathered feet will walk funky like that sometimes..especially when the get them wet or get stuff stuck on the feathers
