I LOVE BABY CHICKS SOOO MUCH
It's just that my parents don't want anymore then three chickens and we livebin the city and the limit is five chickens
I realllllly want to hatch some when I'm older but I am afraid they will die somehow when there in the egg

Bobelot is the name of the broody hen by the way..... I thought I should share that
She hasn't given up yet and she sits on the divider and acts all dramatic and diva like when she is not even sitting in the nesting box

Mine is Buffy and she is keeping my other hen, Goldie, from her normal laying schedule so it's upsetting to both of them. Buffy will rush in there the minute I open the coop and just sit there. Poor Goldie had to lay her egg where she roosts at night yesterday. Buffy also has not laid an egg in 2 days.

Put Buffy into the broody buster yesterday. I'll let her out in the morning. Maybe 2 nights will be enough.

Hello all
My 1 year old chicken slept in the nesting box last night and when I got home from school she was in the same nesting box. And she always usually lays when I'm at school. It's also really hot out so wouldent she want to be outside in the shade ? And when she lays she done really quick and she has been in there for about an hour . She also keeps making weird sort of screeching/screaming sound that the other chickens do a tiny bit when they are on there roost at night or when they lay an egg

barred rocks are sleeping I'm the nesting boxes too! I'm interested to see a reply to your post..

This has happened two times now
When i collect The other two chickens eggs they are cracked a little in this is inside of them

I'm sorry it's a really bad pic but I will post a better one later in the day
