What is happening with my chicks?

Tell us more about your brooder set up. How much space do you have? That's a lot of chicks and they need a good amount of space to stay healthy. My first though with dying chicks is always overheating. Do they have a cool area in the brooder, someplace completely, totally out from under the heat, where it's room temperature?

donrae - The brooder is in the garage which is attached to the house and stays fairly warm. The brooder itself is 3'6" x 6' long made from plywood and is raised up off the floor, set on 2x4's - so there is plenty of room I think. we have two water stations and two feed stations and the heat lamp is set up slightly off to one end so there is lots of cooler space they can get to.
From everything I am reading and people I've talked to it seems we are doing what we can. We have added organic apple cider vinegar to their water from the first day - and have been giving them yoghurt mixed with their feed once a day for the last 4 days.
They all seem pretty good now and I hope that is the way it stays.
Thanks for all the help and advice.
