What is ideal place for a small incubator?

This is gonna be my second attempt to hatch Indian Runner Duck eggs, ( first time was only 10% success with an old beat up Little Giant incubator with automatic tuner )


This time around is smaller scale in a small 6 egg plastic digital incubator with automatic turner. My upstairs of the house is warmer but the temp fluctuates plus I got 3 little kids, so I am planning to set up the incubator in my basement in my second kitchen on the counter top, away from everything an everyone, BUT the temp is a constant 17 Celsius degrees.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Set it up in the basement and let it run for a few days. If it holds the temp you need, then off you go. If not, find a closet upstairs to put it in.

That's sounds very good.
Ambient temp might a bit be low...but steady temp is good.

I have mine in a storage room that used to be a spare bedroom. No traffic except for me. A while ago some former neighbors were throwing out a perfectly good folding table...why ???...it had a wasp nest in it. A good spraying with wasp spray and scrubbing and air drying and I have a free table.

I have a similar one and mine is in a unused bathroom. For mine the settings are a degree off so make sure you have multiple thermometers and a hydrometer (calibrated).

Also wrap the sides (not the top)to help with a steady temp.
