Duck egg, not sure what this weird thing is in it! We do not have a drake & the ducks haven't been free-ranging, so even if there was an odd chance that a wild duck hadn't flown south for the winter, there was not a chance it was fertilized. Is this just some tissue that came off & was deposited in an egg? Looks kinda like a piece of an earthworm or something :sick. Too gross! Can parasitic worms be transmitted through eggs? Help please!

Meat spots. Have absolutely nothing to do with fertility. Simply a bit of sloughed off tissue from the reproductive tract. Frequent occurrence, but never seen in store bought eggs cause they are candled with high power equipment. However, you still eat them... those eggs that don't pass candling wind up dehydrated and going into cake mixes and such!!!

Good! Thank you. That's what I was hoping for. My son thought I killed a baby duck. :lau I explained that wasn't possible, but he didn't believe me. I just had a little nervous/worry about worms because the first one I broke looked suspiciously wormy. :hmm
