My husband bought from our local markets, what he was told was a Welsummer Pullet. It was approx. 5 wks at the time and being our first chick, we were none the wiser. These pics were taken at 13 weeks, and well I've worked out that I don't have a Welsummer pullet because it lookes nothing like the photos I have seen, but, what is it.....................

The coloring SORTA looks like one, but she's a little far from the camera for a good look. Can you get closer to her?

Those local markets can be good or bad. Was it an auction? That would make it buyer beware.

whatever she is, she looks slick and healthy. That's one to you, turtleshell!

Its a rooster first and 2nd its not a welsummer.
Need closer pictures to tell what breed.

Yes- it does look most like a Barnvelder.

Is it possible that it is Barnvelder x Welsummer? We bought another young pullet at the same time and she is Barnvelder.
