I have a cochin bantam hatch eggs. One died I think smothered. How should a new mom act? She just sat on them and the one that died had a bruise on it's leg, like she scraped it. I removed the other chick and she has one egg not hatched.
How long should I let her sit on this egg? I removed the one chick per advice on chat. I have no other broody to put this one chick with but there are other older chicks in the room and the new girl responses to their chirping. She of course is by herself in a seperate bin.
