What is Merek's Disease & Do I Need to Vaccinate for It?

If I order 25 chicks from a professional breeder in another part of the country (Michigan), do I need to have the babies vacinated for Merek's Disease?


I just have backyard chickens for eggs and my own family's pleasure. I plan on splitting the order with a friend.


What IS Merek's Disease, anyway?

It's the only thing we vaccinate for. We have it done at the hatchery and also do our own hatches. Google it and you will find out about it.
