What is more important to you?

Lol I have a mix of both, half mine are layers, half are black Polish and one is a bantam Cochin who is adorable and although she lays small eggs, she sometimes lays 2 per day! Plus sometimes I cross my layers whith our pretty breed roosters to combine best of both! Our favorite chick atm is our EexNHR cross who is fast growing like her mom and will be a good layer but looks like a more red brown EE whith the green feet, chipmunking color at hatch etc. But in the end I'd go w/ layers, of our 5 polish only 2 lay 'regularly' once to twice a week maaaybe and they don't go broody, which I like my birds to do.

I pick for both. I have Best large brown layers Golden Buffs, BR, and SS. I love all the eggs but my Golden girls lay the most. Biggest bang for the buck and small in weight at 4 lbs easy on the feed bill. :love I also would like a white egg layer and a blue egg layer in the future.

Is it more important to you to have a good layer or something to look at? I want to know what other people think.

Thanks!!!!

For me it's both, and that is why leghorns are my all time favorite in all of their many varieties. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and to me there is no more beautiful chicken.
