What is my chicken doing?

My Ameraucana, Jane, keeps lying on the hot pavement in the driveway, like this. What is she doing? I have three chickens, and she's the only one that does it. The other two are Black Star and New Hampshire Red, if that means anything.

If she's not sick she is sunning herself. They like the warmth.

chickens like to sunbathe, so that is what she's doing. the pavement was probably really warm and she couldn't resist .

As said previously, she's sunbathing. Mine often like to sunbathe after they've had a dust bath.

My tiny baby chicks like to flop right over and spread out under their heat lamp after playtime in their run. So stinking cute.

Thanks everyone. I guess she's sunbathing, then. That's pretty much what it looked like, but it's so hot here I can't imagine that would feel good. As I said, she's the only one of the three that does it. The first time I saw her like that, I thought she was dead, or injured. Crazy bird!

My olive egger had an Ameraucana mom, and she is the floppiest bird. My other two (different breeds) don't do it at all, but if that sun comes out, over she flops - wherever she is standing at the time. Since the very first time I took them outside.

That's pretty much what it looked like, but it's so hot here I can't imagine that would feel good.

I have one black hen that when the other birds are panting in the shade she's laying stretched out in the sun. SMH <shrugs>
