What is my rooster doing?

I noticed my dominate rooster does a weird "dance" round me and the hens. When ever I walk up to him or the hens he drops his outside wing walks sideways to me. He will some times do this to the hens but mostly me. I guess its a dominance thing? When I turn my back he will follow me but once I turn to him he turns around or stops. He doesn't do this to the other rooster. Anyone know what he is doing?

My little pekin roo danced like this when the maran roos came near
But he's stopped now
I think your right he's asserting himself as being dominate over you
Not sure if walking away might make him feel superior
Maybe walk towards him so he has to move out of your way?
my pekin rooster won't take food off me unless I do a bowing head thing like he does to the hens!
Such strange behavior they have

Lol, yes. He's doing the mating dance!

Roosters (once they have started to mature) will lure a hen in to mate with him by dropping a wing and slowly dragging it in circles around the hen. Then he will try and mount her. It is the rooster version of "The Art of Seduction."

Before they learn how to do that, they usually just mount her in a frantic surprise attack while she is eating, or jump out of nowhere on top of her and do his business!

The wing drop is your boy being romantic - or so he thinks anyway! Sometimes they will stamp their feet a little too, to make it even more special!

Be a little wary if your roo is doing the wing drop around you though. He is not necessarily going to get aggressive, but don't get down on his level and give him the chance to jump at/on you. Make sure he knows you are the boss - take a step towards him and get him to back down to you. You are NOT one of his girls

Oh, I usually chase him and try to pick him up! He leaves his hens and stays in the barn sometimes. When ever i walk as soon as i turn my back he runs after me.
