Anyway so my other nesting box is full of broody's and hens laying so this is our other one and my roo keeps going into this box and making noises, now there's a hen in there. Is he showing them where else to lay?

Yes, he's being a good roo: showing them a nice nest spot, and inviting them to put some eggs there! My roo inspects all new nest sites, and really gets into the whole nesting routine.

My boy does this too, but he does it right in the middle of the yard. The girls just stand there and stare at him like he's crazy. He tries so hard to be a good roo, but he just can't get it quite right. He picked up a dry leaf and started making the 'come check out this tasty treat' noise. He is a completely clueless boy.
