What is normal behavior when introducing new chickens?

Hello everyone. I was wondering what normal behavior is for when you are introducing new chicks. I am introducing a chick and she seems to be getting along with my older hen but every now and then they square up and peck each other. Is this normal? Thanks.

Yes I believe this is not irregular as the chick is probably finding her place in the pecking order.

The only time that the older and will peck her is when the little chicken runs around and is playful.

no, but I am introducing them one by one since we have two bullys. we have four older hens.

Cute Fav. She looks just like my Ginger Pie. Ginger is a fast escape artist. Give her little places to escape the bullies, with some wood or chairs.

Ok. Yes, pecking and fighting is normal behavior. As @Idaho Chicken Bungalow said, a hiding place or two will help.

Fighting is normal as the established birds defend their territory. The more space you have the better.
