What is safe for chickens/chicks?

I want to feed my chicks table scraps of veggies and fruits, but what is good for them and what can't they eat. My rabbits can eat almost everything veggie like that I can eat, is that the same with chickens?

3 days-1 week not exactly sure. They probably cannot eat much right now but I am also thinking of like future stuff as well.

I would stick to the chick starter crumble for now to make sure they are getting the needed nutrients/protein and what not. They do love yogurt though, as a treat, and it's great for their new digestive systems. Mine like it with the crumble mixed in the yogurt. I've also seen people mix meal worms in the yogurt for them - if you can do it they seem to love it but it looks GROSS!

I would not give "treats" to very young chicks except for a little yogurt and a pinch or two of oatmeal. You don't want to upset their immature digestive systems and you want to give them a well-balanced diet that supports their rapid growth. Good luck!

At this age, I would suggest only a tiny bit of something very mild...yogurt (which mine didn't even like when they were chicks), a bit of chopped up hard boiled egg, maybe meal worms. Some say nothing at this age, but I did give mine a few treats by the time they were past a week old. Their starter crumble does have all the nutrients they need, but if you're working on "friendlying them up" then treats really help. You'll also want to "salt" their crumbles with fine grit once you introduce treats.

As they get older, almost any cooked scraps would be okay for them, as well as various fruits. Mine love things like leftover mashed potatoes and corn, cooked rice, and cooked meat scraps (even chicken...lol). If they're really lucky we have scrambled egg leftovers
