He does look like he could be an EE/Faverolles mix, so I think they told you correctly. Definitely a he. I agree they may both be boys depending on the age of the other.

Hm, Leaning towards cockerel but my Dominique would get pretty red combs earlier than other breeds, I'm going to have to say your barred rock(Which actually i'm thinking it's a Dominique x EE since he has a Rose comb instead of a pea comb) Is unfortunately a boy
