I was told by the person whom have her to me she is a cuckoo maran

That's a barred rock. Cuckoo marans have slate legs

Agree she's a barred Rock. Marans have white skin (and legs), this bird has yellow legs. Plus, the pattern of the coloring is more barred than cuckoo, cuckoo tends to present as a messier pattern.
