Any guess as to what she is, besides tailess?

I got her at auction a few weeks ago, either she is molting or had her tail feathers plucked at her previous home. I guess she could be a mix, her color doesn't match my RIR or either of my Red Sex Links.

Thanks in advance

Looks like a Golden Comet or RIR. Does she have any white on her feathers? My Comet has white and my RIRs have a few black feathers.

I would say maybe a New Hampshire. Non of my red stars look like her.

oh oh maybe somebody fibbed and sold me a not Red Star!

oh well whatever mine is she's sweet and lays every day.

Looks like a New Hampshire. Could be a Production Red or a Sex Link. I do have a Red Sex Link that is almost all red, but the red is dull in color and there is some lighter red in her tail. Wait to see what her tail color is when it grows back in. Greenish=NH. Red = PR/RSL.
Whatever she is, she is a nice look'in girl. Congrats on your purchase.

She has one little tail feather and its the same color as her. I dont see any white anywhere on her, I have 2 different shaded Red Sex Links that both have white on their tails and necks. She is a much different shade than my RIR.

I will have to go look up NHR and Production Reds. Thanks for the suggestions!

When I was putting the chickens away for the night, I quickly snuck a peek at her new tail feathers growing in. It turns out they are black or greenish on the tips....so that would mean shes a New Hampshire Red?
