Was wondering if anyone might know what breed this hen is? I was told she is an austrolorp but she doesn't seem to look like them. She has a very tiny comb that all most looks gray or black. She is a large chicken the biggest I have and I think she is 8 weeks? I was thinking maybe a black Sumatra? Also is there way to tell how old the are?

She looks like my Aussie chicks at 8 weeks.

What color are the bottoms of her feet? Pink is Australorp, yellow is jersey giant and I think Sumatra are slate.

Not all Aussies have yellow then red combs as they grow. I have had a few that started off just like yours and end up red when grown.

Looking up Sumatra feet and they are supposed to be yellow.

Note though that some of my hatchery Aussies had yellow feet until grown up.

Don't worry her comb will look right when she gets to point of lay. See 2nd pic at ~ 15 weeks/no comb. They are funny looking as 'teens' that develop
into real beauties!
I hope so Sumatras don't sound like good layers or very nice for a backyard flock from what I've read
Australorps are excellent layers. Carmen(above) layed the first and second eggs from my tiny flock.

She looks like a black australorp. I have one that's 9 weeks old.
