Sorry. Sometimes I have a little trouble getting out what I mean. So here goes again.

Silver laced Wyandottes were the first/original laced Wyandottes (First Wyandottes???). Then all the others were developed from that. I am just saying that she has some silver laced in her blood that decided to breed through to her and is showing in her feathers.

I really don't know what I am talking about.... Just a guess based on some of the things I have recently read about breeding and genetics, It is really interesting me now, especially where the Blue Laced Reds are concerned.

Like Hybrids of many species of animals (also plants), it is common for previous ancestry to reappear in later generations.

I have 3 Silver Lace Wyandottes, six weeks old, look just like your chick. Some have more white than others and there is more white on their neck feathers that elsewhere. They are nice friendly chicks.

She is what most hatchery pure SLWs look like. Not what SLWs should look like, but she's pure SLW as far as they're concerned......they just aren't interested in selctive breeding to have them look like they should.
