What is she?

I was told this is a quail, but I am not sure at all what kind or if she even is a quail! I don't know, either, if this is male or female but to be hopeful I call "her," a female and have named her Cricket

Does anyone know what kind of bird this is? She's a rescue, she was the only surviving chick after her mother and several other babies had been killed by a cat out in a barn several hours away here in Florida.

She's a he. Male jumbo brown is what it looks like to me.

It could work as chicks, or even MAYBE as adults but.... it's more likely you'll have a full blown war on your hands. (Bobwhites are a LOT more agressive, i found this out the hard way)
