That's a red sex link. I have one too about that age.

Mine was sold to me as a buff Orpington.lol. There was a mixup apparently.

She looks just like my red sex link. I have 3 of them. They are basically Rhode Island Reds that have been mated with a different breed.. (There's a couple different popular crosses).. They cross them so that they can help predict gender at hatching... Hence the 'sex link' part of the name.. From what I've been reading, they are quite friendly, lay large brown eggs and have wonderful personalities.. I can tell you that all 3 of mine are exactly like that! (Though know eggs yet.. they are only 7 weeks old.. lol) But the kids and I are having tons of fun with them. Enjoy your little girly!

Red sex links are part or 1/2 Rhode Island reds. They are great layers!

I am actually very pleased about my mixup. My RS is a very sweet pullet.

Yes they r very loving climb right in my lap when I go out and sit in the yard with them. My boy loves them.
