What is the benefit of eggs?

I am hatching eggs because I want:
a. good quality
b. only a couple of certain breeds
c. I can't get the breeds I want locally
d. the kids to see it, since their school doesn't do it
e. I want "The joy of staring at the incubator 24/7 for 21 days!"
