I was wondering what is the best breed for a brooder. We have tried to hatch our own eggs in the incubator and had NO luck. Should we get only 1 brooder or more? Does anybody have any brooder chickens close by Hamilton, Ohio that they would be selling to us.

Silkies and Cochins probably go broody easiest, so I would say standard Cochins for the size.

And if you can't get anything out of the incubator just try again and you'll learn to figure it out, all bators seem to have 'personalities'

one brooder should be fine, it depends on the size
