What is the best breed that will grow its population the quickest?

Check out pheonixes. Smaller carcasses, but d@mn, they don't stop brooding. Have 4 or 5 mamas with various ages and just broke 2 more that were trying to nest.

Predator aware, though you'll lose youngsters occasionally. Also lay a ton of eggs when they're getting ready for a clutch. So if you can keep collecting and not let them build a nest, they'll keep laying

So you think Phoenix breed would be another excellent choice to select for high reproduction rate?

excellent info so far guys, keep it coming!

Silkies, Cochins, Australorps are all really broody breeds (the first two especially).😁
Cochins have the size and black australorps have the color I’d like. Both would be great options to potentially cross together. I’ve also read the black Jersey giants go broody.

My goal for the ultimate survival breed is highly reproductive and broody hens, large and meaty, fierce fighting roosters. Big wings. What do you guys think? Does this already exist?

Yes, but they are small birds carcasswise. Maybe a 2 or 3 pound carcass for a male fully grown. My flock master weighs roughly the same as my Cornish bantams male
