depending on the size of egg you want i would reccomend the Hisex which is a cross or RIR and another good laying breed or Lowmen Browns Leghorns are also good but the 1st ones never go clucky and in their first laying year they lay 1 egg a day each

red sex links are really good because they are a mix of the best layers. rir and leghorn.

I have an opportunity to buy 1 1/2 yr old white bovan hens for $2.00 each. Are these good layers? Does anyone else have this breed?
