My husband just gave me the go ahead to invest in a better incubator, if there is one. I have a little giant still air with a turner, not the best, but it worked for me last time. I paid quite a bit for the eggs that I am hatching now and he is worried that I should have one that has an automatic thermostat(is there one that has that??). We came home today and the temp was like 104

because it is warming up in Az. So is there a better incubator? or will I always have to manually adjust the thermostat and just keep a close eye on it always? Thanks

One that hatches well. Sorry I'm in a silly mood. I have 2362n hovabator with the fan I love it.

Don't know anything about the Hovabtor one's>I graduated from LG's to a Sportsman 5 year's ago but We were in the business to hatch and sell at that point. But Due to some Insane stuff last year had to sell out everything so stuck with these 2 LG's right now.I hope thing's work out this time and can get one of the Sportsman's back.I've heard good thing's about the Hovabator's however I guess they are nice if you hatch in small number's.

I like my Hova bator Genesis 1588. It has a preset electronic thermostat (already preset for 100), a fan, and a large picture window to view hatching. I am using it right now and it holds at a steady 100 degrees. I love it!

Consider a Brinsea incubator: http://www.brinsea.com/

I
have 2 Octagon 20 Eco's and an auto-turning cradle, and I LOVE them. They're "set it and forget it" incubators, they hold rock-solid temps, and there's no fiddling around with them or worrying about temperature spikes.

I've heard good things about the Hovabator Genesis too, or the R-Com King Suro 20 if you want something totally automatic, but I'm a Brinsea loyalist.

hi all, Im new to the group and happy to be here
I have a little giant still air this is my 3rd year with it,i actually have good hatches with it ,the first time i got it i think i was pulling my hair out, its a styrofoam box so the temp isnt going to be stable, and boy it was all over the place. then there are no markings on the dial so you can remember where a good temp is( I took a pen and marked a line down the dial and out onto the stryofoam box ).my last brainfrizzle was i though that it was still pricey for what i got i thought. so after a couple runs with it here is what i did .. i used my goldfishes digital thermometer to make it easy on my eyes on whats going on in there .i set the incubator in a good place way from constant changes like windows and doors.i run it to where it isnt too hot in the day and not too cool at night .in the day it will reach 102 the same dial placemark at night it will be 97. Right now i have about 80 some odd button quail eggs in there due to hatch friday.

I also have a R-Com its small and really pricey i paid 140. it holds only 8 button quail eggs or 3 chiken eggs. it was to be fully automatic just put in the egg mode what bird eggs your hatching ,add water and eggs and away it goes and will even count down the days. but my hatches arent good from it and the plug in had a melt down ( i got home from work and kicked off my shoes and my foot touched the plug in, to my shock it was hot.i reached down and unplugged it.it was melted pretty bad i just thought wow that could of caught my place on fire.i contacted the company i bought it from, and they said they are just the seller) so i bought a new plug that will work with it.

and i just bought a Brand new ReptiPro 5000 Digital Reptile and Bird Incubator off ebay just a couple days ago ...its like christmas all over again.i cant wait for it to get here so i can give it a go .
