What is the best meat bird ??? Please share your opion's

i want to start a meat bird flock something ,good and hardy that grows out real quick for a meat bird only,I've been told there are some breeds that will go from day to process in 8 to 10 weeks and am very curious which breed fall under this rating thanks for all the advice ahead of time

Cornish cross is what you have in mind.

Cornish cross, Cornish rock, Cornish X, Broiler birds...all are theoretically the same bird...just different names.

is a cornish x the same thing as rock cornish,because I did'nt have any luck with them,they seem kinda frale to me had really day luck with them ,and they don't get very big either thanks for the help

You usually get Cornish X's from hatcheries. They are "specially bred birds"... it's what you see all roasted in the Grocery stores. They grow big and they are tasty!

These are nice meaty birds in 6-8 weeks. You cannot free choice feed meat birds if you want good survivability. If you had challenges with them in the past, it is typically due to non-food restriction.

Cornish rock is the correct terminology.

Yes, they are the same. It's just different strains of the same type of bird.

White Plymouth Rocks are the birds that grow like a normal bird.
