I am facing the dilemma of hatching two chicks with detatched aircells. I have had them pointy end down since the start. Should I put them on their side with the aircells above them or leave them pointy end down during lockdown

I had a clutch of shipped eggs that I hatched last year and had several detached air cells. I incubate all of my eggs on their side from start to hatch. The hatch rate for these eggs was not great, but some of the detached air cell eggs did hatch.

Not much help, but good luck however you decide to go.

I have eggs in my incubator right now and in lockdown, they're all sitting in
an egg carton with the pointed end down due to detached air cells. From most of what I've read, this is the preferred/safest way to let them hatch out. Fingers crossed, we both get them to hatch safely.

Scary stuff. I have put the eggs on their side for lockdown. Now day 19. Once they hatch I am hoping to introduce them to our broody but have two broodies to choose from. One called Apricot is a silky serama /silver laced Wyandotte cross the other the same called Lightning. Apricot hatched six chicks last year . Lightning has never hatched before . How do I introduce them to her. One tip out there is in the dark another to introduce them to her????????? So confused 🤔🤔🤔🤔🐔🐤
