What is the best quail for small backyard and for breeding since I want them to have chick's but want to avoid overbreding them and I'm thinking 2-4 quail to start with there not snow but it can freeze sometimes outside with temperature 30 at lowest and hotest 90+? I heard of button, coturnix,
Celadon quails but no sure if any of them is good for what I want?

Celadon are coturnix, they just lay blue eggs instead of the splotched brown/cream ones.
Are you doing them for meat, eggs, chicks?

I'm interested for chick's and eggs
I'd say button quail but I've heard they don't tolerate the cold too much. They do best in pairs (one male, one female).
Coturnix are fairly easy once you get things right. But typically you'll need one male to four to five females. So probably not the amount you're looking for.
Bobwhites do best in pairs as well (one male, one female). They, from what I recall, have a breeding/mating season so that's something to consider.

Coturnix are extremely hardy little birds. Mine survived -40 F and up to 102 F, and I only had a heating pad and lots of hay. If they have shelter from wind and rain and proper environments they can outlast almost anything. They also will bounce back well from illness or injury. I know you don't want a huge flock, but they are excellent beginner quail and are fairly easy in my experience to tame down if you handle them regularly. They lay like champs too.
