What is the best time of the year to purchase chicks?

I was lucky and found a place that carries baby chicks all year round, so my fist set of checks I got in January I am now on my second set this year and this time (march) I was ble to hit several of the feed stores who had ducks and chickens, so I was able to get several different breeds.. So I agree most are geared to get chicks in early spring or the tail end of winter
