before we get their duck house set up wuld like to know the best way to water these babies since we are cleaning and changing bedding twice a day now. If someone has homemade type please send pics and info. thanks

a simple bowl will work for now till the are older. Make sure it is big enough for them to "wash" their nostrils but not big enough for them to get into.

I have 4 grown ducks and keep a kiddie pool for them. Oh yes it gets pretty nasty fast but I empty it every other day or at least add fresh water to it daily till clean out.

As for an inside watering bowl for their coop, still working on that one myself so far nothing works for long. But I will find the solution one day.

We use both of the images below, when they are super little they use the floor water, as they grow they can reach the auto water bowls, and we remove the floor water.

yes plan on getting a kiddie pool for them for the summer months, I'm sure there is someone that has come up with some way to keep them from getting their bedding so wet. I did see where some don't give them water at night when they shut them in, guess that will work once they are in their permanent housing and will have to deal with trying to keep them comfortably dry til then.

Having a 1 year old, and ducklings....I found myself changing dirty pens, and diapers way to often during the day. I have my ducks in a water trough right now, and broke off a piece of wood to cut the trough (33% swiming area 33% bedding, 33% for food & water). I used rocks so they could walk over the wood piece....and put a liner down under the food & water, I haven't had to change bedding in 3 days, and it's awesome!!!

Also, I used a little dog dish for a waterer, it's deep enough they can get their whole heads in, heavy enough not to tip over, and small enough they don't care to jump in it.

I'l have to take pictures soon!

Where do you find the fowl waterer? I am having an awful time finding something big enough to hold enough water that my dozen ducks (just over a month old but huge!) need from when they get shut in at night until I let them out in the morning....small enough they don't jump in....but heavy enough they also don't tip over running by. And their bills are just too dang big for the regular little giant chicken waterer....but I can't find one specific for fowl anywhere!

I use a 1 gallon milk jug with holes cut in the side and it works great. Also a very large plastic container with lid (used for muffin or cake storage) with large holes cut out in the lid has worked well for me. Anything else I've tried has pretty much been a messy disaster.
