I just slid the lid back a little and grab em as I can then slid lid back once hand is out.
most of the time they go to the other end so don't have many escape but when they do I just go grab em. Coturnix may jump out but few know what to do after they are out!
Buttons on the other hand are hard to catch! the little boogers
