What is the best way to catch quail in a compact area?

I have my quail in a pen that is kind of compact while I am working on their bigger pen. What is the best way to catch them? I cant fit a net in there to get them soI was trying to think of ways to get them when I have their pen done!

I just put my hand in there and grab them to be honest lol. if your pen is built so that you can't touch every angle of it that's where the complication lies. You could possibly build another opening to the pen and get htem that way???

If they are flying the easy resolve to that is to clip their wings, if they are just dashing away from you then you'll need to corner them one by one and just get a firm hold (not too firm) around their wings

Thanks for the quick reply Niki! I dont think they are flying very much but I am not watching them 24/7. lol

I could probably try to corner them to move them. That might possibly work!

I found a really nice short handled minnow net at Wally World. It's maybe 18 inches long including net. The net fits my Bobwhite perfectly, unlike the big fishing net I have.

My rabbit hutch/quail house is a tight fit. I get them to run to the back of the hutch, slide in my small cat carrier, open the back of the hutch and they all run into the carrier, Block the opening, remove from hutch, close the door. TADA!
