I never thought i'd have this many broody hens ever at one time!! 1 of my broody hens is due about a week before the other three. Two broody hens are in the same pen and the other two in another pen. So what should I do when they hatch? Just let them and their chicks be with the rest of the flocks?? After the chicks hatch should I remove the mommas and their chicks into a different area? HELP! It's broody city around here!

Hope you want more chickens

I just hatched 9 from an incubator 2 weeks ago, plus 5 from TSC.
My broody just gave me 9 more 2 days ago, and I have another broody setting on 5. I am looking forward to the answers to your questions.

I'd separate those new chicks and mommas for the sake of the other birds my broodies become evil with new chicks. Do you ever incubate your brahmas? I've had a terrible time trying to raise them the chicks seem too big for their own good.

Too cute! I've got some hatching now also but the Lt brahmas are all floppy when they hatch and thump all over the place until they bleed so i've been putting them in the brooder early. the other breeds of chicks just sit and watch the brahmas spaz out it's driving me nuts. Have you had any problems with brahmas?

Well this is my first time hatching Buff Brahmas. They did in fact flop around in the incubator, but any breed flops around in the brooder, for me anyways. What are you hatching besides Light Brahmas?

Marans, showgirls (first round of these), polish, silkies, cochin bantams...I think thats it in that incubator, I've got 3 other incubators loaded with any thing from pheasant to cayuga ducks.

Omg! Your hatching quite a lot! I really like Cayugas. where did you get the Cayuga eggs from? I'm interested, lol. I lost my duck to some dogs, grr!!

My girlfriend bought the cayugas on ebay she's a sucker for ebay eggs she thinks she's "winning" and doesn't consider it "buying". Gotta be careful though I got taken for about 60$ by a scammer on ebay seller name was cluck_duck_goose I guess thats the risk and all I can hope is that carma pays them a visit.

Wow, that's horrible! That's just wrong that someone would do that!! I hope you have a good hatch though!
