What is the best way to keep a mixed flock pure for breeding?

I too have too many roos ,that are 5 months old.
but have enough Hens and pens but
am over crowded. so I have decided to let
the roos free range and then into a seperate coop.
and just use the Eggs not hatching any more for a while. as all that I have we have hatched.
anyone want free
feathered footed cochin roos LoL.

My plan was to sell some LF and banties. But I couldn't choose which breeds of hens I wanted. In my pen I have a BR, a BO, and RIR along with 2 EE hens and an EE roo. The EEers will hopefully lay bluish eggs so I can tell which are "pure". Any brown eggs hatched will be EE mixes.

Lord have mercy how long can it take to be certain that your hen is not still carrying eggs from the first rooster? I have heard 2 weeks is quite safe three weeks is an insurance policy and now I see some folks reccomending 6 weeks. I broke every egg from my hens (very large omelet) after 3 weeks of having the rooster off and not one fertile egg. Of course there was only about 18 eggs but there must be an established time framr from experienced breeders.
