What is the best way to treat chickens for mites?

Diatamaceous Earth- rub your chickens in it, give them a dust “bath”. Put it in all the nest boxes and clean out all of the already existing bedding in their coop- whether it be wood chips, or whatever else. Clean it out so that the mites don’t have anywhere to go once they are cleaned off your chickens.

Make sure you rub them all in it well, under their feathers, around their vents, all the little cracks and crevices.

You will need to dust bathe your chickens again in about a week because of eggs and their life cycle.

Also, clove oil is fantastic if you can get some.

Feeding your chickens raw garlic in their food or water can help too.

We are going to through the same thing right now. But you don’t need to use chemicals, there are many methods that won’t harm your chickens. There will probably be differing opinions on this though.

Good luck and I hope this helps! :)
