Who knows the breed of this brown hen? Had a gold colored one as well.
Was told it was an Americana.. every time I try to find an Americana now it's just an Easter Egger to me. This is not an Easter Eggers... are Americana not the same anymore. She is 5 and is still laying amazing blue eggs! 🤎

She's an Easter Egger.
Ameraucanas are a pure bred chicken.
Easter Eggers are hybrids made with one pure bred blue egg gene parent. They will lay blue or green eggs most of the time but their appearance will always be different.

Easter Eggers are sometimes called Americana (which is not the same as AmerAUcana). It can be quite confusing. So, you may have been told she's an Americana (with an "i", which is a hybrid that typically lays colored eggs, and is often interchangeable with the term "Easter Egger"), but she's not an Ameraucana (with an "au", which is a purebreed).

She's pretty! I've never seen true Ameraucanas for sale in any store local to me. Your best bet might be to find a trustworthy breeder that is within driving distance for you, or use a hatchery like Meyer or Cackle, both of which do sell (or at least advertise to sell) pure Ameraucanas.

We got two of them as pure Americana. (I can not find it anywhere now) we have had lots of EE they where definitely different. The tail and neck comb .. not the same.
Anyone know where you can get an Americana that is not an EE?

Try TSC. Their site says they have "Americana chickens, a cross between Ameraucanas and Araucanas."But they're probably not selling any more chicks until Spring with it getting later in the year.

Or Hoover's Hatchery online. TSC gets most of their chicks from there anyway. And Hoover's says they will have Americanas ready on the 27th, so in 2 days. Here's the link-
