Found this egg in a nesting box early this morning. Has a strange membrane as a sort of "tail". Want to make sure one of my chickens isn't ill. Thanks

More than likely the next egg bumped into that egg in the shell gland, they got stuck together and the second egg came out with the first attached to it. That's my guess.
As long as it is only a one time thing not to worry. If it keeps happening then is the time to worry

Glitch in both membrane and shelling...hopefully a one off.
Are layers young and newly laying?
