What is the coolest/most extreme colored eggs you have ever gotten or seen?

It doesn't have to be a chicken of course

BTW if there is another post for this please let me know. I couldn't find one.

I love my Black Copper Marans eggs - they are the richest, darkest brown. That said, however, I have never owned Ameracaunas. I think I'll add some to my flock next summer just because you guys show the best pics of those beautiful blue and green eggs

Those are the three breeds I had come across and love!

Anyone else have any stories or pictures?

Croad Langshan eggs!

These are not my eggs or my pics. The chickens have not been established in the US. They place a pink/purple bloom over a brown egg.

Wow button quail are gorgeous! I would love to have them but I've heard they, like all game birds, are extremely skittish. I with I could keep them in my entirely enclosed bantam run but I don't know if they and the flock would get along well, plus, can they be outside-ish?

Those Croad Langshan are really different!

I wish all these different colors came in bantam sizes!! I'd LOVE to have mini Cayuga's! I only have 1/10 of an acre and I just want to keep everything small. Full size just seem monsters now lol. Even though I raised all sorts of breeds when I was a youngster.

ok, now THAT is cool!
I've been working on growing food so I can serve my hubby an all-purple meal. got broccoli, carrots, beans, corn, onions, radishes, potatos... if I could add purple eggs, I'd actually be able to make it a meal!

for eggs we've actually had... cayuga. we had one that would lay asphalt black eggs early in the year. sometimes they'd have incomplete coverage, like the black had been laid over the white egg roughly with a spatula, some white showing through here and there.

mallard eggs - nice small green eggs.

we had an americana that laide lovely pastel blue eggs, and one that laid olive green ones.
