What is the deal with their bums?

My 2 week old meat birds have some serious Booty going on... Is this normal? The area between their legs in the back hangs down and is huge... my DD 3 is very concerned that they might be full of water... or food... or poo.... I can vouch that a LOT of the first two are going in, and a L O T of the third is coming out...
