Seeking guidance for lethargic hen w/green poop!

I would get her drinking by dipping her beak in a small cup of water. You can make some homemade electrolytes, or use Gatorade or Pedialyte. Electrolytes can be made with an 8 ounce cup of water, 1/4 tsp of sugar and a tiny pinch of salt. Watermelon is food for hydration. For vitamins human B complex tablets 1/4 tablet daily are okay. Most feed stores sell Durvet and Rooster Booster chicken vitamins, powders, and liquid vitamins. Poultry Cell and Nutridrench are good ones with electrolytes in them as well, and dosage is 1 ml per every 3 pounds of weight daily. Offer some cooked egg and watery chicken feed several times a day. What are her droppings looking like? Has she been laying eggs?

That’s so helpful! Thank you, @Eggcessive ! I’ll try to give her some more water now! And I’ll do the same with the eggs and wet chicken feed too. Right now I just have a bowl of it sitting out for her, but I’ll do smaller fresh batches! And I’ll get some b vitamins too! I was wondering about that! And I’ll try to pick up some poultry cell today. I’m also wondering about water + honey + garlic; I’ve read that can help?

And her droppings are looking darker and less green, and the droppings in the coop overnight were darker, less green, and with a lot of white on top.

The honey and garlic are not necessary, so I would hold off on too many additives. Your poultry Cell plus food and water has what she needs, including B vitamins. I would use one or the other.

Ok I’ll try the poultry cell! I’m thinking I may need to syringe feed her the poultry cell, and I’ll add some water to it, since she’s not drinking much. (I’m nervous about it, but I think it would be most effective, and I’ve watched lots of videos and looked at lots of pics to make sure I get the placement right.) Any recs on how much to give? I appreciate your help and wisdom so much, @Eggcessive ! Truly! It’s awful to feel helpless in this kind of situation, so I really appreciate recs on actions I can take to try to help!!

I had posted earlier that Poultry Cell or NutriDrench dosage is 1 ml for every 3 pounds of weight given orally per day. The label has directions for putting it in the water, but I prefer to give it orally and let them drink plain wster.

Oh missed that thread so thanks for reposting! I’m not sure how much she weighs, so maybe I’ll just start low. And I was thinking of just diluting the poultry cell in the syringe with some water to make sure she’s getting water since she’s not drinking much?

Ope, I realize I did see that thread! But thanks for the reminder anyway! Clearly I’m not firing on all cylinders today in my worry 😕
