what is the difference between bearded and non bearded silkies

Well, what is the difference between a man with a beard and one without? It is the same thing with chickens, except that with chickens it is almost impossible to get the beard below the chin without also getting the muffs that are on the side of the face. Look at a rhode island red or a plymouth rock; see any beard? That is becuase they are non-bearded. Look at the difference between a booted bantam and a d'uccle, non-bearded vs bearded.
