what is the eairliest day you can see signs of the chick in the egg ??

i usually candle at day 4 or 5 then again at day 10 or 11 just to be sure. i candled some eggs a few weeks ago and thought some of them were not viable. i just didn't give up and didn't see a thing until day 13. late starters i guess.

It also depends on egg color and what you use to candle....

i totally agree. i have some maran eggs that it is impossible to candle. just have to wait and hope for the best and make sure they don't start smelling.
