What is the Earliest to Expect an Egg? (Husband needs motivation)

My husband still has to build the nest boxes and attach them to the coop. He is making outside ones so all we have to do is flip up the lid to collect eggs. Our gals just turned 13 weeks on Monday. Breeds listed below. I told my husband he better get going after someone on here posted about an EE laying at 16 weeks. But he needs more motivation. What should date should I give him as his deadline?

I was told that they start laying between 18 and 20 weeks old. I hope that helps!

My BO girls are 21 weeks. Still no eggs. But I think they start laying later than some other breeds.

Someone the other day posted on her pullets ( RIR I think ) laying their first egg at 3 months and 1 week. I have heard of as young as 14 or 15 weeks, but it's pretty rare. I think 20 weeks is much more common. Best Wishes on motivating the hubby!

I had a couple of pullets that started at 17 weeks but most started at 20 to 24 weeks.

i just got my first egg today from one of my Cinnamon Queen hens and they are 15 weeks old. i was very suprised to find it, i thought i was going to have to wait another month or so.

17 weeks has been the earliest for me. I have 26 week olds that are not laying yet, though.

One of my EE's started at 19 weeks. Her comb was getting really red. Check out their combs. If you see some reddening up then he'd better get a move on. Besides, it might be nice for the nests/nest to be there for awhile so they can get used to it. Don't forget the golf balls
