What is the gender of these two Spaldings?

I hatched out 2 little Spaldings a few months back and I thought they might be old enough to sex. I think they’re both female but I’m more experienced with India Blues. Can anybody tell or are they still too young? The one labeled and the one on the perch are different birds.

When they get up there in percentage I struggle too. I have a few that I may have to do a DNA test to know for sure. The one marked #2 I think may be a hen. When looking at the front of the neck, look for a broken rust color running up the neck and #2 does have some slight female scalloping down low on the front. The other bird I could not see that area well enough to comment. Pics from straight on would help me.

They are both lacking a shield so I am leaning hen on both.

These two are a bit lower in percentage than yours but it is a fair example of the rust coloring I spoke of and the light lacing at the base of the neck.

On the chest ... feathers edged with gray.
