A still air bator is one with no fan. A fan assisted one does have a fan.
You need to realise the crucial difference between the air temp and the internal temp of the egg. Changes in the air temp take quite a while to affect the internal temp of the egg. When you put all your eggs into your bator to start, it can take up to 24 hours for them all to come up to temperature. And it's the same when the temp in your bator changes.
Like, if you're having temp swings between say 95 and 105... If the temp is swinging up and down every ten minutes, its very likely that the internal temp of the egg will hold steady round about the middle point of 100F. But if your temps are swinging up and down slowly and staying high or low for hours at a time, your egg will be heating up and cooling down.
An air temp of 105 for a few minutes will most likely not kill a developing embryo, but an internal temp of 105 almost certainly will!
So to answer your question...
If your styro bator does not have a fan, and you're measuring your temps just above the eggs, 101-102 is ideal.
