Hormones are a big thing but they can mellow out after a while. Your lazy.boy sounds like a gem!
If there is peace among them all, I wouldn't worry too much. I once have 7 birds together, two of them being roos, and there was never once a fight beyond the occasional dance and chest-fluff. They'd been hatched and raised together though.
Many factors go into what works and what doesn't.
10 to 1 is what a lot of people say. But I've also read 6 to 1 and 8 to 1 or even 15 to 1. But I think that's people with personal input.
All I know is that people flock differently. But it's a general rule to have more girls than boys.
