extreme east TN. in the mountains. You would think it would be cheaper here.. HMMM. 15.95 purina layena pellet and 17.95 for flock raiser. They are killing me
16.95 for the purina omega enriched in a 40 lb bag. but I had a couple 3.00 off coupons. still 13.95 for 40 lbs and our sales tax is 9.75%
$26.00+ for 50 pounds of Layena. Not much choice here - yet. But I supplement with spent beer grain and other things my chickens like to try to keep the cost down.
Here in Oklahoma a 50# bag of 15% Mill Feed is $13.50+ Tax (not good quality)
18% Mill Chick Feed is $15.50+ Tax (not very good either) a lot of dust in the mills feed
16% Nutrena Pellets is $15.00 + Tax
18% Nutrena All Flock is $15.35+ Tax
20% Nutrena Chick starter/grower is $16.25+ Tax
20% Purina Chick starter/grower is $15.95+ Tax
I generally get Nutrena all flock at about $16.90 after tax. A year ago All flock was 13.50 a bag.
We went down to Bastrop, Louisiana this afternoon to pick up a 5x8 trailer from TSC. This was from the Thanksgiving sale and the wife got a rain check. Trailer was just $499.99. It was about $200 off regular price. Bastrop is about an hour south of Monticello, Arkansas.
I bought 20 bags of feed. They were low on poultry feed so I had to get 6 bags of All Stock. We had a TSC $10 coupon off a s ale of $75 or more. We also had a $20 TSC gift card from Crossroads Joint National. Add to that the two $3 off Purina Omega 3 coupons. Then the buy 6 save $15 coupon. Total savings on coupons and gift card was $51. The 5% saved us $12.90. So we saved a total of $63.90 on our feed today. Total savings today at TSC was $263.90!
We will mix the adult feed with the All Stock to keep the protein as high as possible. We also have winter wheat and rye growing.
Total feed cost was $245.93. Divide that by 20 50# bags and that comes to an average of $12.2965 per 50# bag. Here is the break down of what we bought.
