what is the purpose of keeping goats

I'm thinking goats, sheep and llamas or donkeys will amount to a lot more work than just mowing the grass!

ok well thank you i am not sure if i want a donkey or a llama they are both pretty interesting and as long as they protect that is my main concern

can you also please tell me the height a fence needs to be to keep goats and sheep from jumping out.

If you have a determined jumper, I think anything over 6 ft. MAY hold her in, but maybe not....my sheep can make a standing jump and easily clear 5 ft. and make it look like they were skipping. I had a ram jump 5 ft. side panels on a truck and land next to it like he was merely stepping down a stair.

But I have about 3.5 perimeter fencing that they have never tried to jump...go figure. I think it is all in what is on the other side. I've only had jumpers if I tried to separate a flock and they could still see each other.
