What is the rarest wild animal you have been lucky to see in your lifetime:

The rarest animals that I've seen are Echidnas and Platypuses, neither of which are really very rare.
Also Wedge-tailed Eagles aren't seen close up that often, so it always impressive to see them from nearby

We had a ring-tailed cat living on our property for a couple years. We'd find it's bug shell filled poop all around the hay shed. I only got to see it on our security camera though. It liked to come on the porch and steal the cat food.

We get cardinals and pyrrhuloxia in our yard every year. Once we had a kingfisher perched in our pine tree and once we had what I think was a golden eagle perched on a telephone pole and "talking" to our parrot. They seemed fascinated by each other. And one night we had some kind of teeny tiny owl in one of our mesquite trees. Not sure what kind because I could only see it's silhouette...but it was about the size of my fist.

Does this guy count? My kid says it's her dog...but I think it's a stuffed animal that poops.
